If they can’t come up with the bail amount, a bail bond agent can pay that amount for them. The bail bond agent should have enough capital before they can post bail on behalf of a client. So how does the bail agent make money? Well, the bail agent will charge a non-refundable fee. The fee is usually 10% of the bail.

The bail bond agent takes on another responsibility. As they are the ones to pay the bail, they are responsible for the client. It’s their job to ensure the client shows up in court on the due date. In addition, bail agents must be licensed and meet specific criteria.
